Carter sang on the track “Brown Skin Girl” in 2020, winning praise and prizes. When she got the BET Her Award, she was the youngest recipient. She also won the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award and the Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration award at the 2020 NAACP Image Awards.
“I couldn’t imagine losing her in the ocean and not being able to retrieve her,” he said. “I must learn to swim. Yes. That was the start of our friendship.” Carter and Jay-Z presented Beyoncé with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards in August 2014.  For the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, Carter donned a $10,950 Mischka Aoki princess gown with $565 Giuseppe Zanotti high-top sneakers, which made headlines.
Later, he mentioned his February Rock & Roll Hall of Fame candidacy, which didn’t impress his oldest daughter. He joked that he got the news while driving Blue to school. “‘Yo, give me a kiss!’ I said as she left. ‘I made it!’ ‘Bye dad.'”
