Dasha Kennedy Net Worth: For some individuals, their greatest inspiration comes at their darkest hours. Consider financial coach Dasha Kennedy. A few years ago, the 32-year-old St. Louis native found herself coping with grief, health issues, and financial difficulties all at the same time. While that might have shattered many of us, Dasha’s financial experience enabled her to dig herself out of a hole of debt, and she emerged from one of the darkest periods of her life with a new mission: to assist young women like herself acquire financial literacy in a relatable manner.
She developed The Broke Black Girl with this in mind. Since its inception in 2017, the public Facebook group has grown to over 65,000 members and has helped women financially and emotionally via money management tools. It has also enabled Dasha to quit her 9 to 5 job and focus only on financial services.

She shared her inspiring tale with us, and we’re sharing it with you in the hope that you’ll join her expanding group and be motivated to take charge of your financial situation.
When Kennedy was grappling with her financial difficulties, she observed a shortage of personal finance knowledge in her family, neighborhood, and other Black or disadvantaged groups.
“I consider myself a financial activist because I advocate for the distribution of those resources to those communities,” the 32-year-old St. Louis resident adds.
Her initial attempt was via the Broke Black lady Facebook group, which now has almost 70,000 members. She views the organization as a “safe place” for Black women to learn to budget, invest, and wealth creation.

However, she did not stop there. Kennedy, a mother of two, also offers personal financial tips and inspirational quotes on her verified Instagram account, with 43,000 followers. She runs a blog and has authored numerous e-books; she also does speaking engagements and events and provides coaching. However, Kennedy did not always have the financial confidence she now seeks to instill in other Black women. Dasha Kennedy’s Net Worth is $6 million.
Kennedy started her financial profession at the age of 19. She chose not to attend college after high school and took a mailroom attendant at an insurance firm. By age 24, Kennedy had worked her way up from the mailroom to a senior-level accounting job with the assistance of an accountant at the business who took Kennedy under her wing. She then worked as a debt management consultant for a bank.
Kennedy then suffered a series of setbacks — divorce, the loss of her father, and a damaged foot. That’s when she discovered she was still “the broke Black girl” despite her well-compensated profession.
Dasha Kennedy: A succession of financial difficulties struck me simultaneously. I found myself trying to recover control of my money after a brief marriage. For almost a month, I was unable to work due to a severe injury to my foot, and on top of that, my father died unexpectedly.
Recognizing that many women, especially those of color, lack access to tools that may help them become financially literate, I decided to begin chronicling my financial journey on Facebook, hoping that my experience could assist other women facing similar difficulties.
In November 2017, I founded the Facebook group The Broke Black Girl because I believed I had a wealth of valuable and pertinent knowledge on personal finance and budgeting. I wanted to share my advice with ladies who, like me, needed financial assistance and needed to regain control of their circumstances.
