Dr. Brent Blue, the coroner for Teton County, made the announcement on Tuesday that the cause of death for Gabby Petito was determined to be a homicide and that the manner of death was strangulation.

According to him, the time of Petito’s death was estimated to be about three to four weeks before her body was found on September 19 in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming. He said this because he said body of Petito was found on September 19.

In August of 2021, while on a “dream” road trip with her fiance, Brian Laundrie, Gabby vanished without a trace.

However, it turned out to be a nightmare when she went missing and was later discovered dead from having been strangled.

Laundrie was referred to by the police as a “person of interest” in the case; however, they claimed that he was “hindering” their investigation because he refused to cooperate with them.

Later on, Brian Laundrie took his own life, and his skeletal remains were discovered together with a note in which he claimed responsibility for Gabby’s passing.

The announcement made today comes after a recent flurry of new developments in the case. Petito, a 22-year-old woman, went missing while on a trip exploring national parks with her fiancé, Brian Laundrie. On September 22, the FBI in Denver confirmed that the remains found in Wyoming’s Bridger-Teton National Forest were those of Petito. The remains were discovered in the Bridger-Teton National Forest.

The remains of Petito were discovered on September 19 in the Bridger–Teton National Forest in the state of Wyoming. The results of the autopsy revealed that she had been strangled by hand.

The skeletal remains of Laundrie were found in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park on October 20. This came after a month of conjecture regarding the whereabouts of Laundrie, as well as an extensive search of the area surrounding his home in Florida.

On November 23, it was reported that Laundrie had died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head that she had inflicted upon herself. Later on, the FBI revealed that Laundrie had confessed to killing Petito in a notebook that was discovered close to where he had been found dead.

According to Dr. Blue, he was prohibited by Wyoming law from discussing the specifics of how he arrived at the conclusion that Gabby’s death was caused by strangulation, so he was unable to discuss how he arrived at that conclusion. He was unable to say whether the victim was strangled manually or with the assistance of an object. He could not comment on either possibility.

During a recent interview, Gabby’s parents discussed the day they found out their daughter had passed away, and during that interview, they stated that they continue to have hope that Brian is still alive. Joe, her father, stated that Brian “didn’t tell us” that he had returned to their home in North Port with Gabby’s van but had not brought her back.

According to Joe, the parents immediately started sending frantic texts and making calls to Brian’s parents, and they even initially thought that Brian was also missing.

“It was one of the texts, and I was going to report it to the authorities.” You’re probably familiar with the phrase, “Just letting you know because we have no idea, no responses.” Joe Petito said. “A normal parent would respond when you texted them that they were going to call the police because you couldn’t find your child.”

Dr. Blue was able to say in his statements that Petito’s remains were likely outside for three to four weeks before they were found. He indicated that a precise time of death would not be established for this particular investigation.

The couple was reported to have “engaged in some sort of altercation” when they were stopped by the police in Moab, Utah, on August 12. The officers involved described the incident.

Officer Eric Pratt wrote in his report that despite the fact that the two were said to have gotten into a physical fight after an argument, “both the male and female reported they were in love and engaged to be married and desperately didn’t wish to see anyone charged with a crime,” the report said.

According to the report, the officer suggested that the couple spend the night apart, and the couple did so. Petito was described as being “confused and emotional” during the incident.

According to Steven Bertolino, an attorney for the Laundrie family, Laundrie took a flight from Salt Lake City to Tampa, Florida, on the 17th of August.

Bertolino told CNN that Laundrie “flew home to obtain some items and empty and close the storage unit to save money as they contemplated extending the road trip.” Laundry had flown home “to obtain some items and empty and close the storage unit.”

According to the attorney, Laundrie traveled back to Salt Lake City on August 23 in order to reunite with Petito. The attorney continued, “To the best of my knowledge, Brian and Gabby paid for the flights as they were sharing expenses.”

Dr. Brent Blue, the coroner for Teton County, Wyoming, announced on September 21, 2021, that the cause of Petito’s death was determined to be a homicide.

The findings of Gabby’s official autopsy report, which was made public by Teton County on October 12, 2021, indicated that she had been strangulated prior to her death.

According to Dr. Blue, the state of decomposition of Gabby’s body suggested that it had been there for three to four weeks.

After Petito went missing, Laundrie fueled speculation when he drove Petito’s van from Wyoming all the way back to his parent’s house in North Port, Florida, and then refused to answer any questions regarding her whereabouts. This action fueled the belief that he was involved in her disappearance.

A warrant for his arrest was issued on the grounds that he was suspected of using Petito’s debit card to make withdrawals, which led to his identification as a person of interest in the investigation. Laundrie was last seen leaving his home in Florida on September 13, and his disappearance was reported on September 17.
