As a result of federal guidelines and/or fraud prevention measures, this tool enables New Yorkers to submit their identification documentation in a safe and efficient manner. When it comes to document submission, this process takes the place of the previous method, unless an applicant complies with the special instructions for noncitizens or claimants under the age of 18.

Verdict

When you login into the ID.me system after being chosen for identity verification, you must use the email address that you used to submit your claim for benefits. If you do not use this email address, you will be rejected. The completion of your verification will take longer than the usual processing time if you do not comply with this requirement.

The ID.me procedure of validating your identification for the New York State Department of Labor should not be completed if you are not filing for unemployment benefits. If you are a victim of unemployment fraud, you may get contact from ID.me. This message should be ignored unless you are also seeking unemployment compensation.
