The Master Lock Speed Dial lock is unlocked by making a sequence of up and down, left and proper motions using the circular joystick. It’s similar to the video games of the early 1990s.
Anyone can learn the combination of a Master Lock branded padlock in eight or fewer attempts. The method takes little than two minutes and needs rudimentary technical knowledge to complete. The exploit entails lifting a locked shackle with one hand while using the other to spin the combination dial counterclockwise, beginning at the number 0 and starting at the top of the dial.

To unlock the shackle on a Master Lock combination lock, you’ll typically need a sequence of three digits, each ranging from one to forty in value. ” There are 64,000 potential combinations that you would have to go through to brute-force one of these frequently used locks — or at least there were when I tried it. The method provided online by famous hacker Samy Kamkar allows you to reduce the number of potential sequences down to only eight in this case.
Assuming the attacker knows the first and final digits of the lock and the fact that the second digit is one of eight potential values, the hack is a straightforward matter of attempting each conceivable combination until one of them unlocks the lock successfully. If you want to know what the second number is, you must first relax your firm grasp on the shackle and then spin the dial counterclockwise once again. Once the dial becomes stuck again, repeat the process of checking the range you just completed, and you’ll either get the second number, or you’ll need to spin towards 11 one more time. You’re through with this section of the procedure after obtaining two ranges that are more than one hundred.
